November 2016
My mother and I made a day trip out of Tokyo to Hakone in an attempt to see Mt. Fuji. The weather wasn’t particularly good that day. The sky was cloudy and filled with fog. We didn’t get to see the tip of Mt. Fuji like we intended, and the trip out there showed us beautiful scenery. We also went to the hot springs, and reserved a private room since they didn’t allow people with tattoos in their facility. The private room had a nice view into the open forest, but after an hour, the mosquitoes started buzzing around after sun down.

My mother on the opposite end of the cable car. It was stuffy inside, and lacked ventilation, so the ride got uncomfortable as we felt like we were suffocating.
The air smelled of sulfur when we changed cable cars.

This hot spring location provided transportation to their facility, which we gladly accepted.
Our private room to the hot spring water.
Soaking – It didn’t smell or feel like hot spring water to be honest. It felt just like warm water.
