November 2015
I love eating, so food in Taipei is what drove me to hit up all the night markets I could in Taipei. Taiwan has the best street food in the world. I left Taiwan a few pounds heavier, and I would gladly gain a few more to continue eating Taiwanese food every day. I went to Shilin Night market, and then after walking around, we went underground to another night market to eat more. It felt like a never ending food festival, but this was just every day life.
Things to eat:
- Candied tomatoes
- Egg waffles
- Flower shaped cotton candy
- Fried crab
- Taiwanese shaved ice
- Spiral “ear biscuit”
- Fried stinky tofu
- Chicken heart skewers

Candied tomatoes (the one on the right is stuffed with pickled plum)

Egg wafles

Fried crab and fried stinky tofu with pickled cabbage

Giant spiral “ear cookie”

I purchased this hair clip that was so useful. It was so humid and it drizzled most of my trip there, so it was nice to be able to put my hair up and still look cute.

Tofu, sausages, and chicken heart

Citrus juice
