November 2015
After about 15 years, I finally went back to Taiwan. I’ve been here a few times when I was younger, but this time I spent 10 days exploring Taipei thoroughly. Most of my trip was spent eating and shopping. I’ve always loved the food here and could not get enough of the fermented tofu dish. I found Taiwan to be so beautiful, and I only got through so little of it. I was never hungry in my trip, and nearly always stuffed. I averaged about 10 miles a day, and walked ’til I felt like I needed a new pair of feet. I wore my Nikes and even had to purchase ankle supports from walking so much. I split these Taipei posts up since I simply have too much to share. I went to different parts of Taipei, and a Cat Village, so I felt it best to split the pictures up so it’s not all saturated in one post. Maybe I’ll do a Top 20 foods post later on.
Guavas eaten with plum powder is the best thing in the world
Fried dough and soy milk
In the midst of all these skyscrapers and buildings, I love still being able to see nature protected and preserved in so much of this beautiful city.
I ate fried fermented (stinky) tofu with pickled cabbage every day. Bombest street food.
Starfruit (carambola) juice
Taiwanese people are so thoughtful. Even drinks are given little bags so you can have them around your wrist and shop without having to hold it. Trash cans are so hard to find in Taiwan though, as vendors and residents pay to remove their trash.
Sweet custard inside
My favorite soft chews
Kitties at home
Hard boiled tea egg
Snacks from 7-11
Cat from the cat cafe
I totally bought these cat underwear haha. Sadly, they don’t fit me. Sizing is rather small in Taiwan (for rear ends)
More fried stinky tofu with pickled cabbage
Let’s get corny in Shidayes

Egg tarts with different flavored base (brown sugar, green tea, coffee, and regular)
More stinky tofu

Red guave (I like guava with white insides)
